His name just doesn't seem to find it's way onto birthday invitations.
As I walk down the school hallway with his hand in mine I am humbled by the countless number of children who call out his name and wave excitedly. Some of the faces are familiar, many are not. His teacher claims he is one of the first chosen when there are teams to be had. Mothers go out of their way to tell me how fond their children are of him, how much they enjoy his company.
Still, somehow, he just never makes the list.
This week we sent out the invitations. I wrote down name after name as he went over his friends from school, his friends from resource, his friends from the neighborhood.
There's no keeping track in his world.
How wonderful it is.
