"They're going to die,"

I warned as my sister-in-law gallantly saved the fish from an early demise. They had been a colorful centerpiece at a fundraising event and at the end of the evening she had decided to rescue them by purchasing the centerpiece for 20 times the goldfishes worth.

That was four months ago and not only are they still alive but they're thriving. She even brought one back from a near death experience using google and a little ingenuity. Watching her care for her little gilled friends made me miss Ditto, the hearty orange chum that was my kitchen mate for more than a year. He moved with us from our old home to our new but was unfortunately left unprotected from the elements as the demolition for the remodel began. Our oldest son found him floating belly up a fine layer of muck. Join me for a moment of silence in his memory please . . .

O.K. that was long enough.

So I got some new kitchen mates yesterday. I love them. The calming effect of their smooth movements, their cheery color, the *ploop ploop* as they visit the surface. Now if only they had names. I've considered names befitting of the kitchen like Blanch and Julienne. I've also been partial to naming one Patience as it's my goal to attain some in this 38th year of my life. Maybe Moxy, or Brandon's suggested Chutzpah (you know, pronounced like "hootspa").

I'd love some help in the fish naming department.
Any suggestions?

I will admit that nearly everyday the first month I expected to walk in and find them belly up. I tried to remain sort of unattached..but it was pretty useless. I know you understand.

Also what about any of these?
Palin, McCain & Fay.
Peter, Paul & Mary
Nina, Pinta & Santa Maria
Marsha, Jan & Cindy
Lucky, Dusty & Ned (for the guys)

There are many 3-somes throughout time that could be a place for inspiration:
Peter, James, and John come to mind.
Peter, Paul and Mary (the group, I am no longer using religious examples)
Larry, Curly and Moe
John, Paul and GeorgeRingo
Larry, his brother Darryl and his other brother Darryl
Hydrogen, Hydrogen and Oxygen (chemical makeup of water)

I am partial to the kitchen names as well.

Josh says Ga, Ole, and Dee.

You could also go with Finn, Gill, and some other fish part.
