I worry that I may be less of a mother because I am not
I am excited for my youngest to strike out on her own adventures
to wonder, create, observe, question and grow
She'll discover the wonderful her
that exists outside of the "us" that has filled her days since birth
She'll have her own stories to share around the dinner table now
So no, I am not sad.
I am pleased and excited and anxious and nervous
but not sad.

These pictures tell it all. What you have here is a little girl who has so much to offer the outside world, she's ready to embark on this next journey...greeting all around her with that signature wave and half-cocked smile.

Wow, she looks so ready. How exciting for her!
Allie, I raise my soy milk and salute you on your entrance into the world of 'centers', 'wolf ears', and recess! Yea!
I am always baffled by that comment as well. "Why would I be sad" I ask back? Of course, they have no real answer back.............
I wonder if people really do like get sad and go back home and sit and wait anxiously for their little ones to arrive home. Looking at the clock all day wondering what their child is doing now.......
Me I am always checking to clock to make sure I am not late picking them up...lol-ing!
