"This is Srgt. _____ . Your husbands car was broken into last week?"
"Yes."
"And he's missing a black bag?"
"Yes."
"Are you aware of what happened to that black bag?"
awkward silence
"Um, yes."
"We've got the contents in evidence. I don't think any of it is usable but he can pick it up if he wants to."
Such an uncomfortable phone call.
It made me smile all Monday long.
