The toilet water was green this morning.
The leprechauns must've used the bathroom
when they snuck in to dye our milk green.
our oldest rolled his eyes with disgust
our second child plead the 5th and chose silence
our third son promptly poured himself a tall glass of green milk
and drank it while staring at the leprechaun tainted water
our little girl followed suit with a bowl of green honey nut cheerios
the 14 year old chose a white and grey shirt to celebrate the day
the 11 year old wore a bright red Utah Utes shirt
and had green bands put on at this morning's orthodontic appointment
(it's all about the "surprise" green)
the 8 year old wore a grass green shirt with deep green print
the 6 year old accessorized her lime green outfit with sparkly green beads
I can already tell how the spinach tortilla pinwheel sandwiches, green veggie tray, sour cream & onion chips and lime squeezes are going to go over tonight
but let me just say, anyone choosing to be a Saint Patrick's Day killjoy
won't have to bother with the key lime squares and lime sorbet.
Happy "trying to please the believers and non-believers" Day,
