I understand he's in a monogamous relationship

and that he and his girl spend their winters in the tropics

they're lucky on another front too,
they have 3-5 eggs that she incubates for a whopping 13 days. Brilliant.

They'll eat apple slices, but apparently not gala apples from Fresh Market. They must be fine connoisseurs of apples or something.

Anyway, I'm glad they chose our oak tree to hang out in and I would be mighty pleased if they decided to set up camp and have a few little brown and blue eggs

and then maybe I'd be able to figure out just what kind of apples they deem suitable

How do you take your apples?

I love a good, crisp gala or fuji with mini Babybel cheese
delectable

Hey! We have that same kind of bird in our tree and we love it. It's very exciting when we spot it and I also hope it makes a home in our tree.

I am not particular on variety of apple, but it must be crisp and cold..and I especially like them covered in caramel!!

Straight off the core, or in slices shared with my baby girl.
