*Remember when you were 5

and you were free to dream your dreams
without the world imposing it's ridiculous limitations?

Isn't it awesome
when your child has a momentary relapse
back into that wonderful state of being . . .
He announced last night
that he would be trying out for the basketball team today.

He's so cool.

*He didn't make the cut, but he's happy. Really, Really happy. The kind of happy you find yourself in when you've ventured outside of your comfort zone, shown the world what you're made of. Did I mention that Brayden hasn't played organized basketball since half of his mouth was made up of baby teeth? That's what makes me him so great. His blatant disregard for reason and probability. Like I said, the kid is cool.

Oh, how I remember being in the 8th grade trying out for the first time and thinking that I was the littlest one (funny, huh!) because I obviously wasn't, but as an 8th grader I felt so intimidated, nervous and thrilled all at the same time. He will do amazing.... My stomach is in jitters because I know what he will be going through. Go Brayden! (oh, and if he can't walk tomorrow, make him stretch real good even if he doesn't want to!)
