cue the violin

As I listened to the weeping and wailing
over piano practice this morning
I wanted to say,
"Pull it together boys!  If this is the worst part of your life
 you've got it made!"

And then I remembered how I had teared up
in front of the GE repairman,
and I'm sure he was thinking,
"Pull it together lady!  If this is the worst thing in your life . . ."

Hey, you can always pull out the 'I wouldn't let you quit Math or English, so we're not quitting piano' reasoning. Or you an just picture in your mind that handsome 23-year old asking, 'Why did you let me quit, mom?'

Good luck with that whole thing!

(By the way, no pressure, but I love hearing them play!)

My girls don't play the piano yet (though I would LOVE for them to start) but I have to call on the "whambulance" whenever they have to make their beds or take Wilson to the potty. It is like PULLING Teeth.

My Grandfather was a stickler for hard work and then hard play. Sometimes my girls would like to forget the hard work part. (Me too!)
