The windows are down

and the sun roof open. My hair is blowing every which way, tying itself into soft knots. The hot day has given way to more pleasant temperatures and a chill runs through summer's sun kissed skin. The music is turned up, the bass pulsing in our chests. It's past the promised time to be home but as we near our turn off I shut my eyes and mentally will him to keep going. He does, and it makes me break out into a broad, silent smile. The north end of Main street is made cooler by the surrounding fields, the smell of newly watered growth permeates the air. Our hands are intertwined naturally, without thought. He lifts my fingers to his lips and kisses them softly.

I love nights like this.

Hi Jodi, I'm a recent lurker by way of Kim W.. If I remember correctly, we were in the same Midvale ward for a short while (you left as we came). Anyway, just wanted to say that I love your blog. You're a beautiful writer!
