I knew it would happen

I just didn't know it would happen overnight,

Feeling discouraged about my motherly frumpiness today
and then I stumbled upon this quote -

There comes a time
when a woman needs to stop thinking about her looks
and focus her energies on raising her children.
This time comes at the moment of conception.
A child needs a role model, not a supermodel.
~Astrid Alauda, on the "hot mom" trend

That's right.
I look this way because I'm a good mom.
It has nothing to do with the fact I continually overeat,
avoid exercise and clothes shopping like the plague
and think that "make-up" and carmex are synonymous.

the wonderful 'wall yardstick'...one of the few things I miss from our last house. a family's 'visual history' - and a budding-teenager's proof of growing dominance

(and is that quote ever perfect for our times!!)
