Golf. Our co-parent.

We have many desires for our son.  We want him to learn honesty and integrity.  We want him to learn perseverance and the satisfaction that comes from working hard and winning.  We want him to learn the important lesson of losing; how to control anger, frustration, disappointment, embarrassment, sadness.  We want him to learn flexibility and fortitude, how to get back up, dust himself off and try one more time.  We want him to be a gentleman.  To treat others with respect and kindness regardless of age, race, income level or gender.  We want him to experience nature, to fill his lungs daily with fresh air, to let the warmth of the sun feed his soul.  We want him to enjoy the health and vigor of youth.  We want him to disconnect from the tech world long enough to remember the beauty of silence.  We want him to feel peace.  We want him to be happy.

A welcome obsession.

He made the golf team again this year.  He was at the first day of try-outs 12 hours after being diagnosed with walking pneumonia.  There's not stopping this kid.  Between school, working at the golf course, tournaments and practicing with the team we wouldn't know he still lived here if it weren't for his toothbrush on the bathroom counter.

we love his love,

"A kid grows up a lot faster on the golf course.  Golf teaches you how to behave."

I know that you’re happy seeing your son playing in the golf course. I can see that he really enjoys it and that he’s very determined to shine in this sport. You just have to keep on supporting him. He will be more inspired to become a great golfer if he sees that his loved ones are proud of him.
